Johnston Overhaul

I was contacted back in April by a homeowner who lived out of state but had a property in Johnston, Iowa.  The homeowner worked hard to get the home market ready were talking - gallons of paint, lighting updates, stuff removal and a deep cleaning. I was contracted to stage the living room, kitchen, entry, dining room and master suite.  I also advised on paint colors, lighting updates and kept her updated on the progress of the home over the 90 days it took to get the home market ready.

What do you do with a giant classic colonial that has been on the market for over 90 days? I get asked this question a lot by realtors and/or homeowners.  My first two questions are always "What feedback are you getting? And when can I see the home?"

This particular home has great bones, super spacious with a pretty open layout (for a home built in 1999) and has been freshly painted. It was struggling with cleanliness, left behind items and a massive feeling of unimpressive emptiness.

I offered to remove dated blue couches and items that no longer belonged in the home (when you see the photos you'll get it) and then stage the dining, living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Fingers crossed this home will now get the attention it deserves.

8276 Aspen Drive

Last Thursday, I staged this new modern home in the West Des Moines on Aspen Drive. I got to go with a more masculine look to match it's city loft look.  It was definitely fun to stray from the all white/neutral look that I usually choose to balance the home.  Unfortunately for you, this listing sold already on Saturday.
