First Floor Floor Face Lift by Jessica Miller

Let’s talk LIGHTING. Lighting can be such an easy and affordable thing to replace in an older home. This 2005 Urbandale ranch had heavy Tuscan lighting and a sponge painted fireplace that were immediate eye sores for it’s market and competition. I worked with the seller on budget and we were able to replace 13 light fixtures on the main level for under $2k. The return on investment would be major for this $489k listing. Thanks to the listing agent Gina Swanson, Webster Electric, Brian Bartlett Painting and my team we were able to change out lighting, paint and stage this home in 6 hours. Talk about team work!

Check out this quick and easy face lift below.

Check out this incredible transformation of this ranch on a stunning acreage 30-40 mins from the the Des Moines Metro! With a fresh coat of paint and some decluttering this home could not have flipped more beautifully.  Super pleased with the results! Full listing here.

422 38th St Pl Home Staging Before & After by Jessica Miller

Jim Baehr of Iowa Realty recently contacted me to help stage a couple of homes for his clients. The beautiful, classic home was built in 1920.  The owners have done several recent updates including the kitchen and all new bathrooms just to name a few. The living room, entry way and dining room was budgeted for the stage of this empty home.  Check out the before and after and the full listing here

Waynesville, NC Home - Do it Yourself Magazine by Jessica Miller

I spent 4 days in Asheville/Waynesville, North Carolina styling this gorgeous home in the Smoky Mountains. Props needed included a mountain of pillows, plants, flowers, rugs, smaller home decor, blankets, towels and kitchenware. All which needed to be returned before we boarded our plane. Side note - the South does not like returns which did not make my job easy at the end. But thankfully, I got to bring my momma as an assistant on this trip. She really helped me out and I THINK she finally understands what the heck I do at these shoots. Words from Momma Miller -"You sure do spend a lot of time fussin". I couldn't agree more :)

44th Street Home Before & After by Jessica Miller

Last Monday at noon, I was hired by Rochelle Burnett of Keller Williams to stage a home in the Hollywood neighborhood (that's what my iPhone location told me) of Des Moines. The required turn around time was 30 hours.  EEK!  But, I got the home done by 5pm last night and I am super pleased with the results.

A little background - The family moved out but left the larger furniture behind. This space is great but it was sooo dark- dark walls, dark furniture, red accents...so cavernous. I knew immediately what needed to be done to bring out the full potential of this home. The family rented new rugs, pillows, side console, accent chair, bathroom and small home accessories from me.

This great Hollywood home will be on the market soon!

living room before & after by Jessica Miller

We've been in our new home a little over 2 months and things are finally starting to come together. Since it's starting to feel more and more like home, I decided to capture the living room progress this morning.  Make sure you check out the before photos at the end.
